SIG Supplied 236 Thousand Tons of Cement for the Construction of the Sigli – Banda Aceh Toll Road

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has contributed to the construction of the Sigli – Banda Aceh Toll Road (Sibanceh Toll Road), one of the main sections of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road which stretches 74.1 km and is also the first toll road in Aceh Province. Until January 2024, SIG has supplied 236 thousand tons of building materials for the construction of the Sibanceh Toll Road.

The Sibanceh Toll Road, which is part of the National Strategic Project, is important infrastructure that can help road users access their destination with faster travel time. Travel time to Malahayati International Port via GT Padang Tiji – GT Baitussalam can also be cut to just 1 hour from the previous 3.5 hours, and cut the journey through winding hills from 3 hours journey to 2 hours.

SIG Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, SIG is proud to be able to contribute to the construction of the Sibanceh Toll Road which connects regions in Aceh Province to create a driving force for the local economy. This proves the high trust of stakeholders in SIG products.

The Sibanceh Toll Road is divided into six sections, including Section 1 (Padang Tiji – Seulimum) 24.3 km; Section 2 (Seulimum – Jantho) 7.6 km; Section 3 (Jantho – Indrapuri) 16 km; Section 4 (Indrapuri – Blang Bintang) 13.5 km; Section 5 (Blang Bintang – Kuto Baro) 7.7 km; and Section 6 (Kuto Baro – Baitussalam) 5 km. 

“To ensure the strength and reliability of the Sibanceh Toll Road construction in the long term, SIG supplied UltraPro cement which has many advantages, such as easy application, optimal dry time, better flexural strength, and a final result with maximum strength. UltraPro is very suitable for the construction of toll roads, dams, airplane runway and other building structures, which require high initial and final compressive strength," said Vita Mahreyni.

Furthermore, Vita emphasized that with the support of the widest production and distribution facilities in Indonesia, SIG is ready to support the development throughout Indonesia. "We guarantee an expeditious supply of building materials for successful project implementation with maintained product quality and quantity," concluded Vita Mahreyni.
