July 1991, initial shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (BEJ) and the Surabaya Stock Exchange (BES) with the code SMGR. Installed capacity of 1.8 million tons per year. -
1995
Acquisition of PT Semen Padang and PT Semen Tonasa. Installed capacity of 8.5 million tons per year. -
1998
Cemex became a strategic partner by buying 14% of SMGR's shares. SMGR's installed capacity is 10 million tons per year. -
1999
Cemex increased SMGR's share ownership to 26%. -
2006
July 2006, Blue Valley Holdings PTE Ltd. bought 26% SMGR shares owned by Cemex. SMGR's installed capacity is 16.8 million tons per year. -
2012
SMGR acquired Thang Long Cement Company (TLCC) from Geleximco. TLCC's installed capacity is 2.3 million tons per year. -
2013
On January 7, transformed into a strategic holding PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. -
2019
On January 31, SMGR took over 80.64% of Holderfin B.V. at PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk (SMCB). SMCB installed capacity. 15 million tons per year. On February 11, PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk changed its name to PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk.

2022
On December 19, 2022, the Government of Indonesia officially inbreng shares by transferring ownership of shares in PT Semen Baturaja Tbk to SIG. This is a continuation of the Cement Sub Cluster SOE Integration Program through the Pre-emptive Rights (HMETD) process, making PT Semen Baturaja Tbk officially part of the SIG Group.
